My name is Jake Konen, and I am a junior pursuing my undergraduate degree in marketing with minors in English and nonprofit leadership at Hastings College, a private, liberal arts college in my hometown of Hastings, Nebraska.
My career goal is to manage marketing and communications for a company or nonprofit organization.
I am a dean’s list student and a member of the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society. Last summer, I earned an online certificate in Business Communication from Duke University.
In addition to my studies, I enjoy being involved in a number of extracurricular groups on campus including BACCHUS, a peer education group focused on the responsible use of alcohol; the Outdoor Club; and Professional Business Leaders. This year I co-founded a group on campus that discusses and advocates for environmental rights.
I have completed two internships–one at the Office of Marketing and Communications at Hastings College and the other at Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation. In spring 2017, I will complete a marketing and communications internship at the Hastings College Foundation.
In my free time, I enjoy working out, playing sports, watching good movies, spending time with friends, and listening to music.
